Andy has previously worked in regulation, for the Environment Agency, including three years as area hydrogeologist in the Thames Region followed by a further thirteen years’ experience in private sector environmental consultancy, contaminated land assessment and remediation contracting. His specific expertise encompasses intrusive site investigations, remediation and validation, including detailed quantitative risk assessments for controlled waters and human health. In addition, Andy’s hydrogeological expertise includes pump test design, implementation and results analysis, to determine specification for remedial systems, together with detailed modelling to assess the effects of groundwater abstraction on the water environment and determine contaminant fate and transport characteristics.
Andy has acted as Expert Witness where causation or liability relating to environmental impact is disputed. This work has relied on his detailed knowledge of current environmental legislation and regulations.
The Application of Treatment Technologies in the Real World.
Our seminar will aim to address the different types and scales of treatments and the pros and cons of their application, within a variety of different sites and scenarios. A range of different technologies and the implications of their use in variable scenarios will be discussed, and an insight into the effect of time and monetary constraints upon a specific technology will be presented. Appropriate case studies will be included.
